The Flagstick – April 2026

April 28, 2026

Dear Members,

In this month’s edition of our Flagstick, it’s all about the Clubhouse. From Kitchen & Bar changes to upgrades in our Locker Rooms, we’ve got a lot of exciting things happening for the 2026 season—so let’s dig in.

Kitchen & Bar

There has been a lot of talk about our kitchen here at CGC in recent times—we know there have been questions and concerns. But please be assured: CGC will open the kitchen and will be serving a selection of bar favorites this coming season. As outlined in detail in last month’s Flagstick, our dues structure can’t support a full-time Kitchen & Bar staff. That doesn’t mean we can’t offer quality food at reasonable prices during peak club hours.

With Cory’s departure, Dennis has taken on the managerial duties for our Kitchen & Bar operations this season. He’s off to a great start, welcoming back many of last year’s staff. At the time of writing, Dennis is projecting to begin kitchen operations during the first half of May. We’ll post the actual opening date and menu in the Clubhouse once we’ve received all vendor orders.

Bar Update

The bar is currently open, and Dennis is serving canned and bottled beer. Our beer tap lines are being cleaned this week, Coke products just came in, and our liquor order has arrived. Please continue to check the posted signs at the bar for updates, but rest assured: our bar will be fully open in the coming days.

Locker Rooms

We’re very pleased that Bruce Schaffner and his team were able to take on this project before the season truly starts. We anticipate completion in the coming days, and we thank everyone for working together through limited facilities access. We’re thrilled to be bringing our membership new vanities, floor-to-ceiling stall doors, new tile, fresh paint throughout, new lighting and ventilation, and plenty of other finishing touches we think you’ll love. This project is a direct result of your feedback—the survey results were clear, and the Board is happy we were able to make it happen.

Greens Committee Update

The 2026 season is off to a great start. Mother Nature has been cooperative, and the grass on the course is looking excellent. Brent and his team have the greens and fairways in superb condition. Additionally, around mid-May we’ll be kicking off some exciting new projects. Brian Robinson is heading up the Garden Committee and will be redoing the planters built last June, including new stain, additional flowers, and fresh mulch. If Mother Nature continues to cooperate with healthy rain and sufficient sunshine, we expect this to be the best season yet for course conditions.

Pro Shop

Dennis is sending a separate communication about the Pro Shop and the exciting changes he has in store. Look for that message in the coming days—and please don’t forget to support Dennis and our club as his new lines arrive and start hitting the shelves.

Reminders

As always, please look for the posted signs around the Clubhouse for opening times and days for all operations. And don’t hesitate to reach out to any Board member with questions.

Thanks for your patience through the transition — we can’t wait to see you at the bar and on the course!
